Birthday gifts from Mom and Dad

The Boy wanted a bodhran. If you don't know what it is, I guess look one up online and it will tell you more. I could go into explaining what it is, but really you could find out better by reading somewhere else. It's a historic instrument he has heard a lot in Irish/Scottish music we enjoy. He has done great in learning how to use it. I actually have been enjoying learning with him. He also wanted a new hat and some Lego. He didn't ask for much, but the drum was an adult priced gift, (well, Lego's aren't cheap either these days) so he knew if he got them he would only get a few presents. He was so pleased to get a real bodhran. He said he expected a child's one. That didn't make sense to me, as he is a rather mature and large boy, he might as well learn on a real instument as opposed to a smaller one. He's pretty cute when he gets in his Celtic mood and goes to drumming and singing!
