We didn't go to church today. Wayne slept in, and he really needed to do that. Riah was up early and ready to watch cable tv, which we don't have at our house, but Grandma does have. The "brothers" were much more holy and took their familes though, and will be here for lunch after services are over ;)
I am going to upload a few pictures of this morning, and will put some more on later of the Faulkner kids/family, but for now here are a few. Grandma knew Riah liked blueberries so she bought him some. He was pretty excited to see them and also other fruit and veggies in her fridge. Those are some of his favorite things to eat! Yep, my kid will take a tomato to a chocolate bar anyday!
We had lunch with the family here at Grandma's and the kids played for awhile. actually, the girls played with Emma and watched TV and the guys played on the computer. Emma is such a joy! She is just as sweet and smart as we would expect her to be, just like her big brothers. She is really talking, and echoes much of what Kim says. Tyler and Rane are both so tall, I am looking eye to eye with Rane now, and Tyler is almost taller than Wayne. Both Tyler and Rane are such gentlemen, it's a joy to see them growing into such awesome men.
All of Roger's kids were here today, Riah had fun playing on the computer with Brad. Siera gave me a violin lesson. Shelby got the precious smiles from Emma that are in many of the photos below. Lea told me about her adventure to Texas that is coming up this week. It was nice to spend time with the nieces and nephews here in Champaign, we will see the other Faulkner kids (Iowa bunch) next Saturday in Peoria.
Eric and Kim own two restaurants, building a third here in Champaign. One of his places is a custard shop he created called Cozy's. Cozy's rents out space to a business called Junior's Burgers, and we had never tried Juniors since it hasn't always been there, it just hasn't seemed to work out for us lately since they put it in to try it, but tonight we did. Riah got a hot dog, which pleased him. I am on a "if I never eat another hot dog in my life it would be too soon kick," and he thinks he has to get hot dogs every now and then when we eat out. Wayne and I had burgers. The novelty was that Riah got to try fried pickles and fried mac and cheese. I am not into fried foods, but it was something different so we tried it. Riah liked the mac and cheese better, but thought the pickles were ok. He also got his traditional "Bears On The Beach" custard treat as well. As always, Uncle Eric's custard is the best anywhere. Cozy's in Champaign rocks.
We ate our supper with the company of friends Kenny and Marlene, and had a great time laughing with them as we did. It is always good to see people we don't get to see often, especially ones we laugh that hard with. Kenny and Marlene are dear souls and we love them!
We are off in the morning towards Missouri...
